Growing up my grandparents would often make this Egg, Potato & Pepper Sub sandwich when we went on picnics. When I would raise my nose at it, they explained this it was a popular dish for Italian immigrants during the depression to take to work each day.

Following her Club Sandwich Pinwheels, and Creamy Avocado Guacamole, @justlikegranny wrapped up “Picnic Week 2022” with a recipe for No Bake Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies .

During our week long “Picnic” Series each of our creators went live with fun and creative recipes for our followers. We managed to get several of the recipes to share here as well. It came about from a favorite salad of watermelon & feta I discovered years ago here in San Francisco. What I realized as I worked on my version, was to appeal ,in a subtle manner, to both sweet and savory tastes; so that when you finish the meal, you finish on the sweet side and a minute later you get a bit of heat, making you crave more

During the week of May 23rd - May28th, each of our creators will be taking turns hosting a TikTok Live sharing some favorite and creative picnic ideas to inspire you to prepare for the spring. Recipes will be geared for folks with all cooking abilities.
