Middle Eastern Inspired Pork Chops

Melissamurd's Middle Eastern Inspired Pork Chop is packed with flavor and a wonderful twist to the usual pork chop!
 

Ingredients

  • 4 pork chops (1/2 inch bone in)

  • Juice of 1 lemon and zest (divided)

  • 2 tablespoons plain yogurt

  • Butter

  • Spices to taste:

    Salt

    Garlic powder or fresh

    Fresh ground pepper (always)

    Smoked paprika

    Ground cinnamon

    Ground cumin

    Ground nutmeg

    Ground coriander

    Ground mint

    Dried thyme leaves

    Ground white pepper

 

Directions

  1. Mix spice blend with 1/2 lemon zest and juice.

    Rub blend on pork chops on both sides and set aside

  2. Warm skillet on low medium and pour EVOO and a bit of butter into a heated skillet covering the bottom.

  3. Place season pork chops in skillet once EVOO/butter are heated

    Brown on both sides to desired color

  4. Add other half of lemon juice/zest and 2 tablespoons of plain yogurt and mix. Add water or chicken stock as needed. Lightly simmer until done

  5. Taste for seasoning and adjust to your liking. Serve with choice of sides
