Daal Seasoned Chicken Skewers with Savory Creamy Tomato Sauce

Ingredients
For the Chicken Skewers:
500g chicken breast, cut into cubes
1 cup plain yogurt
2 tbsp daal seasoning mix
Wooden or metal skewers
For the Tomato Sauce:
1 large onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 large tomato, finely chopped
1 cup heavy cream
1 tbsp butter
1 tbsp olive oil
For Serving:
2 cups cooked basmati rice
Tzatziki sauce (store-bought or homemade)
Fresh cucumbers, sliced
Fresh tomatoes, sliced
Directions
In a bowl, combine the yogurt and daal seasoning mix. Add the chicken cubes and stir until they’re fully coated. Let them marinate for 10-15 minutes.
Preheat your oven’s broiler. Thread the marinated chicken onto the skewers and place them on a baking sheet. Broil for about 10 minutes, or until the chicken is fully cooked and slightly charred.
While the chicken is cooking, heat the butter and olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and sauté until they’re soft and fragrant. Add the chopped tomato and cook until it’s soft.
Pour the remaining marinade into the pan with the vegetables. Cook until it’s caramelized, then add the heavy cream. Stir until the mixture is thick and creamy.
To serve, place a portion of basmati rice on each plate. Top with a chicken skewer and a generous helping of the creamy tomato sauce. Add a dollop of tzatziki sauce and a side of fresh cucumbers and tomatoes.
Notes: • If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for at least 30 minutes before threading the chicken to prevent them from burning.
For a more aromatic tomato sauce, consider adding some fresh herbs like basil or parsley.
