Breaded Shrimp Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined (patted dry)

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp salt

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • 1 tsp paprika

  • 2 large eggs, beaten

  • 1 ½ cups seasoned breadcrumbs

  • Oil, for frying (vegetable or canola)

 

Directions

  1. Season shrimp with salt and pepper.

  2. In a shallow dish, mix flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.

    In a second dish, beat the eggs.

    In a third dish, place the seasoned breadcrumbs.

  3. Dredge each shrimp in the flour mixture, then dip into the beaten eggs, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.

  4. Heat oil to 350°F in a deep pan or fryer.

  5. Fry shrimp in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Cook for about 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.

  6. Use a spider or slotted spoon to remove shrimp and place them on a wire rack over a sheet tray to keep them crispy.

  7. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
