Ingredients

  • 2 racks of baby back ribs

  • ¼ cup brown sugar

  • 2 tablespoons chili powder

  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano

  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper

  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

  • ½ teaspoon onion powder

  • 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth

  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar

  • 1 cup barbecue sauce

Directions

  1. Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs for better seasoning absorption. Preheat your oven to 275°F (135°C).

  2. Mix brown sugar, chili powder, oregano, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder in a bowl. Rub this mixture generously over both sides of the ribs.

  3. Place the ribs in a roasting pan and pour chicken broth and apple cider vinegar around them. Cover tightly with foil and bake for 2.5 hours.

  4. Remove the ribs from the oven and brush them generously with barbecue sauce. Finish the ribs on a grill or under the broiler for 5-10 minutes to caramelize the sauce.
