Steak & Shrimp Hibachi with Fried Rice
Ingredients
1 ½ pounds steak of choice (I used strip steak)
1 pound shrimp
1 Tbsp soy sauce
1 Tbsp sesame oil or vegetable oil
1 Tbsp ginger paste or minced ginger
1 Tbsp tempura sauce
1 Tbsp garlic paste or minced garlic
Fried Rice
2 Tbsps sesame oil or vegetable oil
6 cups cooked and cooled jasmine rice
1 onion, diced
3 eggs
½ cup soy sauce
½ Tbsp tempura sauce
3 Tbsps butter
1 Tbsp garlic paste or minced garlic
1 Tbsp ginger paste or minced ginger
Optional: store bought yum yum sauce
Directions
Cut the steak into inch size pieces and place them in a container or plastic bag. Add the soy sauce, garlic, and ginger. Toss until combined and marinate for an hour.
Preheat your griddle on high heat. Let the cook top preheat for 6-8 minutes, then reduce the heat to medium.
Start with the fried rice. Add the sesame oil and spread with spatula, add the rice, onion, and eggs. Cook 2 minutes and mix together.
Add the soy sauce, tempura sauce butter, garlic, and ginger. Mix together and cook for 7 to 8 minutes, flipping the rice over occasionally.
During the last 3 to 4 minutes of the rice cooking, add the oil and the steak and shrimp to one side of the griddle. Stir and flip a few times throughout.
Serve the steak with your favorite dipping sauces, rice, and veggies.
