Old Fashioned Apple Fritters

Really.. what more needs to be said…. @JustLikeGranny shared a Food Pantry Challenge sweet treat today that has us all here at FoodTokTV mouths watering.

Ingredients:

  • 2 Medium of Any Apples, Peeled & Diced

  • 1 Large Egg

  • 1 Dash of Salt

  • 3 TBSPS Granular Sugar

  • 1/3 C. Milk

  • 1.5 TSPS Baking Powder

  • 1 C. AP Flour

  • Oil for Frying

Cinnamon Sugar Coating:

1/4 C. White Granular Sugar

2 TBSPS Sugar

Recipe:

  1. Heat your oil and prepare your apples. In a bowl combine egg and salt whisking well. Then add in the milk, flour, sugar, and baking powder and whisk until a nice thick dough is formed.

  2. Fold your apples into the cut dough and set aside.

  3. In another bowl combine your sugar and cinnamon for the coating.

  4. Once oil is hot enough, carefully plop a spoonful of the dough into the hot oil, about 3-4 spoonfuls at a time.

  5. Flip them a few times during frying to assure even cooking. I like to cook mine on an electric stove between an 8-9 so the inside gets done as well as a crispy outside.

  6. Once done drop them in the cinnamon sugar and coat well. Transfer to a plate and repeat until no more dough is left and enjoy!
