Foodtoktv Founder C3 - Desarae opens up with us about how Lasagna Love gives back in more ways than one
Learning to live with a disability is something I’ve struggled with for the past two years. It’s taken a lot to overcome the depression and anxiety that chronic pain can cause. I spent over two years trying to heal, pushing through pain with each step I take, and battling the feeling of worthlessness, the loss of my career, and the ability to walk freely without pain.
In November of 2021, my depression was the worst it’s ever been. I was withdrawing from friends, spending the entire day in bed, and forcing myself to smile. I needed something to fulfill my heart. Something to give me back the feeling of worth and being needed. That’s when I stumbled upon Lasagna Love. I immediately signed up to be a Chef and was so inspired by what Lasagna Love had to offer. Giving back has always been a huge passion of mine but this organization brought my love language of cooking for others directly alongside giving back. It was a win/win for me!
Spreading kindness one tray of Lasagna at a time. Who knew such a beautiful organization could help me find my way back to being me? Knowing I’m helping others who are in need directly within my community made a huge difference on my mental health and gave me a purpose to push through my pain. I’ll forever be grateful to Lasagna Love for helping me find my way back to happiness!
I’m honored to have been asked by Lasagna Love to do a live cooking segment with their Founder on National Lasagna Day!
