Ingredients

  • 1 cup honey

  • 2 Tbsp pepper flakes, more or less with heat preference

  • Pinch salt

  • Optional for tangier hot honey: splash of vinegar or hot sauce

 

Directions

  1. Stir the ingredients together in a glass jar.

  2. Place in a small pot of water with a trivet or canning rings at the bottom. Heat on medium, watching the temperature of the water like a hawk.

  3. Once the water temperature heats to 99 F - 102 F, move pot off the heat, and allow to rest for 10-15 minutes.

  4. Strain if desired. Properly stored, will last in the pantry at least 6 months.
