Crack Green Beans

There are several dishes that seem to always prompt a response around the holidays and the “green bean casserole” is one of them. Folks either love or hate it. Over the years I have seen lots of versions and variations and during a recent LIVE, Sherry (@sherry_Skinner) shared a variation with her Crack Green Beans that she traditionally served at her table. You may recall Ms Sherry is also very popular with her version of Green Bean Bundles on tiktok as well.

Crack Green Beans

Ingredients

  • 5 regular cans of green beans, drained (note: you can substitute a similar amount of frozen green beans, about 4 (12-ounce) bags, thawed, or you can use fresh green beans, too)

  • 12 slices cooked bacon

    Crack Sauce:

    • 2/3 cup brown sugar

    • 1/4 cup butter, melted

    • 7 teaspoons soy sauce

    • 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder

Preperation 

  1. Put the drained beans in a 9×13 pan. 

  2. Add the cooked bacon pieces. 

  3. Mix the remaining ingredients (the crack sauce). 

  4. Pour the “crock sauce” over the beans and bake 40 minutes at 350. 

  5. Toss and serve.
