Hi Everyone,
My name is Ashley and I’m a new creator here at FoodTokTV. I’m so delighted to be part of this amazing team, but first let me tell you a little about myself. I grew up in West Virginia with my Wild and Wonderful family (pun intended if you’ve watched the docu) and we didn’t have much but we made meals out of whatever was in the kitchen. Everyone called my momaw the Miracle Woman because she raised so many kids of her own and others. I was the last one of the bunch that she raised so I got to absorb all her wisdom. She taught me everything from the Bible to making good ol sausage gravy. Her chicken and dumplings were to die for and the whole town would want a plate from her. That’s where my passion of food comes from, but it wasn’t until I had a child of my own that I started to be a mini version of my momaw. It was like a spiritual awakening! She didn’t leave behind any written recipes so she must have been in the kitchen with me all the times I’ve made homemade meals. She was the type to eyeball everything and didn’t need fancy kitchen utensils. My passion for food has always been there but the passion to cook meals for my family grew out of control in the last 5 years since having my daughter. I just love putting a smile on peoples faces and what better way than good home cooked food?! Don’t get it twisted though because I’ll make a super easy meal with canned foods or frozen veggies sometimes as well. I don’t ALWAYS mince my own garlic and I don’t claim to be a chef. I just make whatever comes to my mind and heart. I let the ancestors speak to me. I don’t always have a written recipe but since I’ve grown my following I try hard to provide something for you guys to follow. I might make some homemade chicken and dumplings one day and some sort of boxed meal (with my own twist to it) the very next day. To me there’s no rules to cooking and if I can do it you can too! I just want everyone to feel the love of food and feel confident in the kitchen no matter what they’re making. Anyways that’s my foodie love story… I hope you might become inspired to cook too 🙂
