Texas Sheet Cake Brownies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter (melted and cooled)

  • 2 cups sugar

  • 4 eggs

  • 1¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • 1 tbs vanilla

  • 1½ cup all purpose flower

  • 1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips

    Icing:

  • 2½ cup powdered sugar

  • 2 tbs unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 3 tbs milk

  • ½ cup butter

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees

  2. In a stand mixer, add sugar and cooled melted butter and mix until well combined.

  3. Add in egg and vanilla and mix until combined

  4. In a seperate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, cocoa powder until combined.

  5. Slowly add your dry ingredients into your wet ingredients. Once it is all just combined, add in chocolate chips. (You don't want to over mix the batter.)

  6. Transfer to a 9x13 greased cake pan (I use parchment paper) and bake for 30-32 minutes or until there are only a few moist crumbs on the toothpick.

  7. Once you pull out the brownie you can start your icing.

  8. In a medium pan over medium low heat combine butter and milk and mix. Add the cocoa powder and whisk until fully combined. Add in powdered sugar slowly, preferably sifted to keep icing from clumping.

  9. Pour directly over the warm brownie and allow a few hours to let it fully set up. Cut into slices and enjoy!
