Tartar Sauce

This Tartar Sauce is way better than store bought! Mayo is combined with pickles, capers, shallot, lemon, and dill. Serve with your favorite seafood items that need a good dipping!

 

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup mayonnaise

  • 2 pickle spears (any kind, but dill is recommended), finely chopped

  • 1¾ tablespoons capers, finely chopped

  • 1 shallot, finely diced

  • ¼ cup lemon juice

  • 2 tablespoons parsley, finely chopped

  • Optional: fresh dill, finely chopped

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • Optional: a dash of hot sauce

 

Directions

  1. Add mayonnaise, chopped pickles, capers, shallot, lemon juice, and parsley to a mixing bowl.

    If using, add fresh dill and a dash of hot sauce.

  2. Stir everything together until well combined.

    Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  3. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
