This comforting and easy-to-make dessert is bursting with the sweet, juicy flavor of ripe peaches, baked under a golden, buttery topping. Perfect for warm summer evenings, family gatherings, or simply indulging in a taste of sunshine, this peach cobbler embodies classic comfort food with a touch of elegance.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced (or canned peaches, drained)

  • ½ cup granulated sugar

  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

  • ¼ teaspoon salt

  • 1 cup milk

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted

Directions

  1. Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.

  2. Prepare the Peaches: In a bowl, toss the sliced peaches with ½ cup of sugar and cinnamon (if using). Spread the peaches evenly in the greased baking dish.

  3. Make the Batter: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, 1 cup of sugar, baking powder, and salt. Gradually stir in the milk and melted butter until a smooth batter forms.

  4. Assemble the Cobbler: Pour the batter evenly over the peaches, letting it spread on its own—it doesn’t need to completely cover them.

  5. Bake: Place the dish in the oven and bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the peaches are bubbly.

  6. Serve: Let the cobbler cool slightly before serving. Pair it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for the ultimate treat!
