Ingredients

  • 1 lb Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 1 tablespoon balsamic glaze or honey, optional

  • ¼ cup toasted nuts (like almonds or pecans) or dried cranberries for garnish, optional

Directions

  1. Prepare the Brussels Sprouts: Wash and trim the ends of the Brussels sprouts. Slice them in half for quicker cooking and caramelization.

  2. Heat the Pan: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the olive oil.

  3. Cook the Brussels Sprouts: Place the Brussels sprouts in the skillet, cut side down. Sprinkle with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Let them cook undisturbed for 4-5 minutes, or until the cut sides are golden brown.

  4. Stir and Finish Cooking: Stir the Brussels sprouts and cook for another 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are tender and evenly browned.

  5. Add Optional Glaze or Garnish: Drizzle with balsamic glaze or honey for a touch of sweetness. Toss in toasted nuts or dried cranberries for added flavor and texture.

  6. Serve: Transfer the roasted Brussels sprouts to a serving dish and enjoy as a delicious side or snack.
