Pommes Dauphinois (casserole of potatoes)

Yesterday Brad (@ChefBradley1) shared his take on a gooey, cheesy Brussels sprouts with cheese. Today he steps up the goodness with his take on Pommes Dauphinois (casserole of potatoes).

Pommes Dauphinois (casserole of potatoes

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb Russet potatoes

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Minced garlic

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • 1/2 cup milk

Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 400°

  2. Heat cream and milk in saucepan over medium heat. Do not scorch

  3. Peel and slice potatoes about 1/16 inch using knife or mandolin slicer

  4. Toss potatoes with salt and garlic

  5. Layer into a buttered baking dish

  6. Pour hot cream mixture over potatoes

  7. Cover with foil and place in oven

  8. After about 30 minutes, remove the foil and allow the top layer to brown

  9. Remove from oven and allowed to set 20 min before eating.
