Mustard Gravy
Ingredients
1 shallot, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 Tbsp butter -2 Tbsp flour
1/2 cup half and half
1/2 cup chicken or vegetable stock, plus more as needed
1 Tbsp dijon
1 Tbsp grainy mustard
1/4 cup wine
1/8 tsp turmeric
pinch of salt and pepper
Directions
In a nonstick pan, melt the butter on medium heat. Add the shallots and cook until softened, then the garlic for a minute.
Add the flour, and whisk until combined. Let this cook a minute or two.
Lower the heat and stir in the wine. Stir in the mustards and stock. Once smooth, stir in the half and half, and let simmer a few minutes.
Taste for salt and pepper and add those along with turmeric. Serve on mashed potatoes
