Ingredients
1 raw pie crust
6 eggs, beaten
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 a sweet onion, minced fine
1 cup ham deli meat, chopped fine
1/2 teaspoon white pepper
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon chicken bouillon granules
A pinch of nutmeg
1 cup cheddar cheese, grated
1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated
Fresh minced chives for garnish
Directions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the raw pie crust into a 9-inch pie dish.
In a large bowl, whisk together the beaten eggs and heavy cream until smooth.
In a separate bowl, combine the finely minced onion and chopped ham.
To the egg mixture, add white pepper, salt, chicken bouillon granules, and a pinch of nutmeg. Stir to combine.
Fold in the onion and ham mixture into the egg mixture.
Sprinkle half of the cheddar and parmesan cheese onto the bottom of the pie crust.
Pour the egg mixture over the cheese.
Top with the remaining cheddar and parmesan cheese.
Bake for 45 minutes or until the quiche is set and slightly golden brown on top.
Allow the quiche to rest for 15 minutes before slicing.
Garnish with fresh minced chives before serving.
Make It Better
For a flakier crust, pre-bake the crust for 5-7 minutes before adding the filling.
Use freshly grated nutmeg for a more intense flavor.
Customize the cheese combination according to your taste preferences.
Fresh minced chives add a splash of color and a subtle, onion-like flavor.
