Chocolate Peppermint Poke Cake
Ingredients
1 box dark chocolate cake mix
1 jar hot fudge sauce
1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
1 teaspoon peppermint extract
1 container Cool Whip (thawed)
Crushed candy canes (for garnish)
Directions
Preheat your oven according to the instructions on the cake mix box. Prepare the dark chocolate cake mix according to the package instructions. Bake for 30 mins
While the cake bakes, mix the hot fudge sauce, sweetened condensed milk, peppermint extract in a bowl until smooth.
When the cake is done baking, Use the handle of a wooden spoon or a similar tool to poke holes all over the cake. Pour the peppermint fudge mixture over the warm cake, making sure it seeps into all the holes. Let the cake cool completely.
Once the cake has cooled, spread the Cool Whip evenly over the top. Sprinkle crushed candy canes on top for a festive touch.
