Ingredients
1 (2 lb) bag Southern-style hash browns (frozen, thawed)
1 (16 oz) tub French onion dip
1 (10.5 oz) can cheddar cheese soup
1 can of milk (use the soup can to measure)
½ onion, diced
2 cups diced ham
1 stick butter, divided (½ stick melted for casserole, ½ stick melted for topping)
2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded (plus more for topping)
Seasonings of your choice (recommended: garlic powder, salt, pepper, or your favorite seasoning blend)
Sour Cream & Cheddar Ruffles chips, crushed (enough to cover the top)
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Spray a 9x13-inch casserole dish with cooking spray.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the thawed hash browns, French onion dip, cheddar cheese soup, milk (measured using the empty soup can), diced ½ onion, diced ham, ½ stick of melted butter, and 2 cups of shredded sharp cheddar cheese. Season with garlic powder, salt, pepper, or your favorite seasoning blend. Mix everything together well.
Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared casserole dish. Sprinkle an additional layer of sharp cheddar cheese over the top. Crush Sour Cream & Cheddar Ruffles chips and spread them evenly over the cheese. Drizzle the remaining ½ stick of melted butter over the crushed chips.
Bake uncovered for 40–45 minutes, or until hot, bubbly, and golden brown on top.
Let it sit for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!
