The Fall 2022 Squash Series!
Hot on the heals of our Apple Series which you can still catch them all on our FoodTokTV Youtube channel or see some of the recipes on our “In The Kitchen Blog” we launch a new creator series on Monday October 3rd. Its Squash Festival time.
Starting Monday October 3rd - October 9th, creators will be coming on LIVE under out FoodTokTV channel to bring you our personal favorites from the entire range of squashes. Many of the dishes will spotlight whats know as “winter squashes” which commonly include a wide range of then hearty garden treasures of the fall. Rich with flavor and nutrients, particularly with healthful beta-carotene helpful as we move into shorter daylight.. This is our playlist (subject to change)
Mon: Ashley 7:00pm EST Roasted Acorn Squash & Chicken Soup
Tues: Ashton, 11:00am EST, fried squash and Italian herb baked chicken and croissant rolls.

Wed (2): Frank 6:00pm EST with a roasted Butternut & Acorn squash warm salad goat cheese and roasted nuts

Are Pumpkins a Squash?
Yes - pumpkins are part of the Cucurbitaceae family (gourds are also included in this family).
How many types of Winter Squash are available?
Hundred of types of squashes exist, but generally speaking 12-13 are the most common. Recently a newer variety has been pretty popular known as Honeynut Squash is making the rounds. Here is a list of the more common 12 types you may see hitting your shelves. Now because of the way we now cultivate and import veg - you can also find the more traditional “summer” squashes such as zucchini in your local markets.
