Ingredients
1 ¼ cups instant rice, uncooked
1 (10.5 oz) can French onion soup
1 (10.5 oz) can water
1 packet Lipton onion soup mix
½ stick butter melted
Sliced or shredded Provolone, Mozzarella, or Swiss cheese (optional)
1 bunch green onions, green parts sliced (optional, for garnish)
Directions
Preheat oven to 375°F (175°C).
Prepare a 9x13 or 7x10 inch baking dish with cooking spray.
In a bowl, mix together rice, French onion soup, water, melted butter, and soup mix.
Pour mixture into prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
Top evenly with sliced butter.
Cover with foil or a lid and bake for 50 -60 minutes.
Remove from oven, top with cheese, and return to oven uncovered until cheese melts.
Garnish with sliced green onions, if desired. Serve warm.
