French Onion Rice

French Onion Rice is the ultimate one-pan comfort dish—rich, buttery, and bursting with savory onion flavor. Made with simple pantry staples, it’s the perfect easy side dish that pairs with anything!"

 

Ingredients

  • 1 ¼ cups instant rice, uncooked

  • 1 (10.5 oz) can French onion soup

  • 1 (10.5 oz) can water

  • 1 packet Lipton onion soup mix

  • ½ stick butter melted

  • Sliced or shredded Provolone, Mozzarella, or Swiss cheese (optional)

  • 1 bunch green onions, green parts sliced (optional, for garnish)

 

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (175°C).

    Prepare a 9x13 or 7x10 inch baking dish with cooking spray.

  2. In a bowl, mix together rice, French onion soup, water, melted butter, and soup mix.

  3. Pour mixture into prepared baking dish and spread evenly.

    Top evenly with sliced butter.

    Cover with foil or a lid and bake for 50 -60 minutes.

  4. Remove from oven, top with cheese, and return to oven uncovered until cheese melts.

  5. Garnish with sliced green onions, if desired. Serve warm.
