Shrimp Cocktail

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb raw, peeled and deveined large shrimp

  • 4 cups water

  • 1/4 cup lemon juice

  • 1/4 cup white wine vinegar

  • 2 tablespoons Old Bay Seasoning

  • 2 bay leaves

  • 1 tablespoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon black peppercorns

  • 1/2 medium onion, quartered

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • Cocktail sauce (store-bought or homemade)

  • Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions:

  1. In a large saucepan, bring the water, lemon juice, white wine vinegar, Old Bay seasoning, bay leaves, salt, peppercorns, onion, and garlic to a boil over medium-high heat.

  2. Once boiling, add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes or until fully cooked and opaque.

  3. Remove the saucepan from heat and let the shrimp sit in the liquid for 5 minutes.

  4. Drain the shrimp and transfer to a serving dish.

  5. Serve the shrimp with cocktail sauce and lemon wedges on the side.
