Cinnamon Roll Caramel Apple Pie

Ingredients

  • 3 to 4 Granny Smith Apples

  • 2 packages of cinnamon rolls

  • 2 tablespoons apple pie spice

  • ¼ cup brown sugar

  • One package of soft butter caramels (Bequet caramel)

    Apple Pie Spice Recipe:

  • ¼ cup ground cinnamon

  • 3 teaspoons ground nutmeg

  • 1 ½ teaspoons ground allspice

  • ¼ teaspoon ground ginger

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°

  2. Peel, core, and cut up apples into bite-size pieces.

  3. Put apples into a microwave safe dish and microwave for 3 to 4 minutes until apples are soft. Add apple pie spice & brown sugar, and toss apples until coated.

  4. Open one package of cinnamon rolls and put the icing to the side. Pull out one cinnamon roll. Use this as the center, then unroll each of the other rolls around the center roll to make one large round cinnamon roll. Next, using a rolling pin flatten the giant cinnamon roll and lay into your pie plate.

  5. Add pie filling . Add caramels on top. (I like to tear mine apart)

  6. Open the second container of cinnamon rolls. Unroll each one, crossing the the strips on top to make the top pie crust. You may not use all of the cinnamon rolls , they can be stored in a Ziploc bag until you’re ready to bake them off.

  7. Put in a 400° oven for approximately 30 minutes. In the last 10 minutes, you may want to cover your top crust with aluminum foil to prevent it from browning too quickly.

  8. Let the pie rest for approximately 30 minutes. Cut and serve with some vanilla ice cream

Those icing containers that came with the cinnamon rolls can be used as drizzle over the whole entire thing.
