Cherry Bounce Cocktail
Whiskey, cherries, and sugar are marinated together for a long time to create a delicious cherry whiskey that is perfect on the rocks
Ingredients
3-4 cups pitted fresh cherries any kind
1 cup sugar use less for sweet cherries
3 to 4 cups good quality whiskey, enough to cover the cherries, I prefer Woodford Reserve
Directions
Combine cherries and sugar and top off with whiskey. Add more whiskey if the cherries are not fully submersed.
Store in a cool dark place for at least three months or up to a year. Shake the jar on occasion to help develop the flavors in this yummy liquor. This helps the sugar to dissolve. There is no need to refrigerate as the sugar acts as a preservative.
When you’re ready to serve, you can simply strain the cherries out and serve over ice. Definitely keep the cherries to eat on their own or to serve over ice cream.
