Brussels Sprouts with Cheese

We couldn’t hold him back any longer, Brad (@ChefBradley1) final took over our LIVE with several fall inspired dishes last week. On this LIVE he rocked us all with his version of a gooey, cheesy Brussels sprouts with cheese. He also had viewers salivating over his roasted chicken legs and Pommes Dauphinois (casserole of potatoes). Below we share the Brussels sprouts with cheese. recipe and tomorrow we will roll out his Pommes Dauphinois (casserole of potatoes).

Brussels sprouts with cheese

Ingredients:

  • 6 slices of thick bacon

  • 2-4 tablespoons butter

  • 1 White onion small dice

  • 1 Red or yellow bell pepper diced

  • 2lbs Brussels sprouts halved

  • Smoked paprika to taste

  • 1 teaspoon oregano

  • 1/2 to 3/4 cups heavy cream 

  • 1/2 cup Shredded white cheddar

  • 1/2 cup Shredded Gruyère

**To add spiciness, you can add one fine diced jalapeño or red pepper flakes

Preparation:

  1. Preheat oven to 400° 

  2. In an oven safe skillet, over medium heat. Cook the bacon and drain on a plate and chop.

  3. In the same skillet, add butter, onion, bell pepper, and brussel sprouts. 

  4. Allow to sauté a couple minutes, season with salt and pepper, smoked paprika to your liking, and oregano. Cook until brussels sprouts are slightly brown and tender. 

  5. Remove from heat, add heavy cream until almost covered

  6. Top with the cheese and bacon bits on top.

  7. Bake until cheese is melted and bubbly
