Red Velvet Cheese Ball
Make your cheeseball into dessert this year! Cream cheese, heat treated red velvet cake mix, and chocolate chips make a simple holiday dessert to serve with pretzels and crackers
Ingredients
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1 stick (½ cup) butter, softened
2 tablespoons brown sugar
½ cup powdered sugar
1 ½ cups red velvet cake mix (dry) **Heat-Treated
1 cup mini chocolate chips
Directions
In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, brown sugar, and butter until smooth. Gradually mix in the dry heat treated red velvet cake mix until fully combined.
Scoop the mixture onto a sheet of plastic wrap and use the wrap to form it into a ball. Wrap tightly and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or until the cheese ball is firm.
Once firm, remove the cheese ball from the refrigerator and roll it in the mini chocolate chips until the surface is fully coated.
Serve with graham crackers, vanilla wafers, or pretzels
