Ingredients
1 cup unsalted butter, melted
2 cups light brown sugar, packed
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
Optional mix-ins: white chocolate chips, chopped macadamia nuts, toffee bits, dried cranberries, chopped dried apricots
Directions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan and set it aside.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and brown sugar. Stir well until the sugar is fully incorporated into the butter.
Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the butter-sugar mixture. Mix until smooth and well combined.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
If desired, fold in your choice of optional mix-ins such as white chocolate chips, chopped macadamia nuts, toffee bits, dried cranberries, or chopped dried apricots.
Pour the blondie batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.
Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
Remove the pan from the oven and allow the blondies to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes.
Once cooled, cut into squares or rectangles and serve. These blonde brownies can be enjoyed warm or at room temperature.
Notes to make them even better: 1. Enhance the flavor by adding a teaspoon of almond extract in addition to the vanilla extract. 2. Customize your blonde brownies with mix-ins like white chocolate chips, chopped macadamia nuts, or toffee bits for extra texture and richness. 3. For a delightful burst of tartness, fold in half a cup of dried cranberries or chopped dried apricots into the batter. 4. Create a beautiful presentation by dusting the cooled brownies with powdered sugar or drizzling a simple vanilla glaze over the top. 5. These blonde brownies are perfect for serving warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream. The contrasting temperatures and flavors create a divine dessert experience.
