Hot Honey
Ingredients
1 cup honey
2 Tbsp pepper flakes, more or less with heat preference
Pinch salt
Optional for tangier hot honey: splash of vinegar or hot sauce
Directions
Stir the ingredients together in a glass jar.
Place in a small pot of water with a trivet or canning rings at the bottom. Heat on medium, watching the temperature of the water like a hawk.
Once the water temperature heats to 99 F - 102 F, move pot off the heat, and allow to rest for 10-15 minutes.
Strain if desired. Properly stored, will last in the pantry at least 6 months.
