Serves 4
Ingredients
1 large chicken breast, boneless and skinless
Salt, to taste
White pepper, to taste
Black pepper, to taste
1 cup all-purpose flour
Vegetable oil, for frying
4 hamburger buns
Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato, pickles, mayonnaise, mustard
Directions
Start by pounding the chicken breast until it’s an even thickness. This helps it cook more evenly.
Season the chicken breast generously with salt, white pepper, and black pepper on both sides.
In a shallow dish, place the all-purpose flour. Season the flour with salt and pepper to add additional flavor.
Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan or skillet over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
Dredge the seasoned chicken breast in the flour, ensuring it’s coated evenly on all sides. Shake off any excess flour.
Carefully place the chicken breast in the hot oil and fry for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through. Adjust the cooking time as needed based on the thickness of the chicken breast.
Once the chicken is cooked, transfer it to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
Toast the hamburger buns lightly, if desired.
Assemble the fried chicken sandwiches by placing the cooked chicken breast on the bottom half of each bun. Add desired toppings such as lettuce, tomato, pickles, mayonnaise, and mustard.
Top with the other half of the bun, and your Classic Fried Chicken Sandwiches are ready to be enjoyed!
Note: You can customize the sandwich by adding other toppings like cheese, bacon, or your favorite sauce. Serve with a side of fries or coleslaw for a complete meal.
