Buttercream

Ingredients

  • 1 cup softened salted butter

  • 1 cup butter flavored shortening

  • 2 tsp vanilla

  • ⅓ cup heavy whipping cream

  • 7 ½ cups powdered sugar

Directions

  1. Combine butter and shortening in the stand of an electric mixer.

  2. Add in vanilla and heavy whipping cream and mix until light and fluffy.

  3. Add in powdered sugar 2 cups at a time and mix thoroughly until combined.

  4. If adding color, make sure you use white gel food coloring to keep any colors for bleeding. I use about 2 tsp of white coloring per batch.
